The Sandoval Disposition form is a document that was drafted by Major Juan Sandoval after activity requiring the REEL Splint which is primarily used today in the Military.
a. Minimal instructions required for the splint application.
b. Requires very little storage space and is easily stored.
c. Held up well in areas that were muddy (The straps)
d. Students stated that the Splint was stable and comfortable.
e. Was easy to apply as the patient lay. (Various positions)
f. Ideal for BAS, DTS and MEDEVAC.
a. Weight may be too much for line medics to carry.
b. Splints is bulky; this is not good for the medic who had minimal space.
a. Overall the Reel Splint is very impressive and would have a place in the medical army scenario. The short instruction time is necessary for students shows the ease of application. It was shown to be a versatile splint superior to current splints in use.
